The Multicultural Peer Network (MPN), is a program of SSI that facilitates peer support groups with the aim to increase the independence and community participation of people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds across NSW. The aim of the campaign was to create avwareness of the program and highlight facilitating an MPN is a good way to support others in the community and to help people feel connected and not alone, informed, empowered and in control of their future.
The campaign had the dual purpose of recruiting facilitators to run the MPN program and create awareness of the MPN program and what services are available. Given the diversity of the audience in regards to the CALD communities, people with disability, their families and carers and those that identify as LGBTIQ+, it was essential that the visuals represented the diversity of the audience. The messaging and content was written in easy English and also translated into Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Greek.
‘It was obvious from inception to completion that they understood the brief and were flexible and supportive in preparing collateral that suited the needs of a wide audience of people living with a disability.’
