Odyssey House New South Wales was founded in 1977 by Sydney businessman, Walter McGrath, following the death of his son from a heroin overdose. From humble beginnings, Odyssey House NSW has since grown to become one of Australia’s largest and most successful rehabilitation services, over the past 40 years helping more than 35,000 people turn their lives around.
Following a redesign of their logo, Odyssey House engaged us to complete a comprehensive extension of the brand, including collateral roll-out and a detailed set of visual identity guidelines. Conceptually, our extension revolved around the Greek myth of Odysseus and his long journey home by sea, and the countless obstacles he overcame—represented throughout by a graphic wave pattern. Coupled with authentic photography, an extended colour palette, and a variety of graphic treatments, the end result is a flexible identity charting a course for the future.
