Fortior Global combined the strength of three formerly separate project controls implementation specialists — Primavera Australia, PCS Pty Ltd and Project Management Solutions Australia. As a leading provider of flexible, scalable and highly effective integrated project control services and solutions, they required a new brand that would represent this strength and forge a bold new identity for the collective. Derived from the Latin ‘fortis’, meaning ‘strong, sturdy, brave, powerful, robust, resolute, steadfast or courageous’, the direct translation of Fortior is ‘stronger’. As a representation of the nature of Fortior’s core business, we thought it essential that this strength be represented in their visual identity.

An elegant solution, often referred to in relation to problems in disciplines such as mathematics and engineering, is one in which the maximum desired effect is achieved with the smallest, or simplest effort. Engineers, for example, seek the elegant solution as a means of solving a problem with the least possible waste of materials and effort. The brandmark embodies this idea by forming a stylised ‘F’, as though it were a flexible material twisted at its mid-point and resistant to breaking. By extension, the core brand values for Fortior become not only strength, but elegance, flexibility, and even innovation. Importantly, this helps to create stronger ties to the needs of project management and the related solutions that Fortior provide.
